I am alive! I have been sick in bed this last week with some sort of crazy virus and then a terrible case of pink eye on top of it, haha. The worst part is that I couldn’t see things clearly which made editing photos impossible. It bummed me out because I have a whole session of the beautiful B family to finish. I am so excited to share them with you all because not only are they GORGEOUS, they are full of life, love and kindness. I can’t wait to share more!

So now that I am able to see here is a a quick little sneak while I focus on the rest

Yesterday was my birthday and I love celebrating, in fact I insisted to my husband that it was my birthday week So for fun I would love to give away the two dandelion prints below. I love dandelions, they signify spring to me with all their wishful whimsy!

Seattle:

I am going to be visiting June 5-13 and will be available for one session. We could have so much fun and explore some of the beautiful places in Seattle area, email me!

Utah:

When does a child go from a newborn to a baby? I am guessing at 2 months old I can no longer call my sweet little chunk a newborn which is sad. I do love watching him grow and I can’t wait to see what his personality will be like and who he will become, but I also want time to stand still so he will stay little forever! I can’t believe how quickly time is going and how big Oliver is getting, sigh, I love him so much! Here are some pictures of my sweet little boy at 2 months old. I tried to get a few sleepy shots but I think that window of time has also ended (not impossible, just not as easy). Good thing he looks so cute when he is awake

I thought that since Oliver is going to be 2 months tomorrow I should go ahead and post his 1 month pictures I can’t believe how fast he is growing! I love you my squishy little baby.

Oh yes, I am still on maternity leave but when your best friend’s baby turns one it must be documented. Little Peter is such a crack up and super busy. He has been walking since he was 10 months old, so he has it down and he is fast! Needless to say, this kid wore me out

I am in love with his eyelashes and sweet lips, oh and his crazy hair! I can’t get enough of it

I did get a little rest while he sat down for a piece of cake He really loved to poke it and then he figured out he could eat it, yummy yummy!

Why should you hire a professional photographer? Because it is really tricky to take pictures of your own children! Here are a few shots from 3 separate 5 minute occasions. Some are ok (I only got them with bribes of lots of candy!) and others I included just because they are funny Good thing they are so cute!

Lily is upset because SHE wanted to hold Oliver, haha. Mason doesn’t like that she is screaming. This is a very normal scenario at our house

After about 10 pictures I get this look, and the question, “where’s my candy?”

And this last one is my favorite, they look so sweet and cute. Probably because Mason decided he wanted to take a pictures together so they behaved. The only problem is that Mason is in his jammies, Lily is in her Minnie Mouse dress up, Oliver is grumpy and the light was super dark. But I suppose that is real life, and a reminder that I no longer have control

They still demanded candy afterwords even though it was Mason’s idea to take the picture! Sigh…

I am starting to get antsy about sharing some photos of my sweet little baby. I have been writing down his birth story which is taking a while because it was quite exciting! So I am going to go a little out of order and share a few pictures that I took of him when he was 1.5 weeks old. I am glad I took a few because I felt terrible in the first few weeks after his birth. Luckily my most wonderful, fabulously talented friend Jessica Washburn took maternity, and newborn pictures of Oliver for me which I am so so so grateful. I can’t wait to show you more of her images when I get them!

I am so glad to have you meet Oliver Richard Newman, 8lbs 11oz and 20 inches tall. Born January 27 at 5:14pm

This one is my favorite! I love capturing great eye contact with newborns because it only lasts for a split second

Oh how I love you baby boy! I can’t believe how much he has changed already, sigh.

Hello everyone! Sorry for the long radio silence but have been basking in newborn perfection for the last month. I am happily exhausted as I get to know my sweet little Oliver and I can’t wait to share some of the hundreds, and hundreds, of pictures of him and share his birth story. Until then here are a couple of announcements for April Newman Photography (typed with with one hand!)

I am on maternity leave until the end of April, when the weather warms up and the spring blossoms are in bloom. Particularly the apple blossoms which are in full bloom sometime between the end of April and first couple weeks in May.

If you would like family pictures with the apple blossoms please contact me ASAP. When they do bloom they are only at peak for a few days and I will only be able to take a limited number of sessions. First come first serve Here is an example from last year.

I will be in Seattle and Salt Lake City during the month of June and will also take a limited number of sessions during that time. If you are in those areas and interested in a session shoot me an email, april@aprilnewmanphoto.com, and I will give you more info on dates and availability.

And since posts are more fun with a picture, here is a before and after picture with Mr. Oliver. 38 weeks pregnant (just a few days before he was born) and when he was a little over a week old. Thanks to my sweet hubby for taking the pictures!
