About April Newman Photography

I love smiling, laughing and LOVE. I have two energetic red headed children and one amazing loving supportive red headed husband who I love to the stars. As a mom, I know how important it is to document the beautiful, real moments of your children and families, because, oh my goodness, they grow so fast! In every essence of my photography I try and capture that love and happiness in your babies, children and families for you to have and cherish for years to come.

February 11th, 2012

This was my first session of 2012 and the last I did before my sweet little baby came into the world (pictures and birth story coming soon)  In fact I normally wouldn’t have taken a session so close to my due date but I couldn’t resist because this wonderful dad is in the army and got deployed last minute for a year.  Their story reminded me how important up to date family pictures are not only for dad, so he can have some while he is off serving the country but for mom and kids too.  It was an honor to capture some beautiful, and silly, moments with them so they can have them to cherish until his return.

Thanks B family and thank you dad for all your hard work and service for our country!

What can I say I love feet!  Well baby and kid feet at least, all you grown ups can keep them away from me, hehe.  When I was going through my pictures for 2011 I couldn’t believe how many pictures of tootsies I had!  So, I thought it would be fun to show a little review of some of my favorites, and this time I added some of my own kids.  Thanks for indulging in my craziness :)

Happy Feet everyone!

My red heads- Halfmoon New York Child Photographer

January 18th, 2012

Third day in a row posting, it must be a record (and nesting!) I just had to share a couple more pictures of my red heads this fall.  Because Fall is their season and they look good, really good:)  Just looking at these make me so happy and warm, especially considering how cold it has been in these parts the last few days!

I think this week is officially going to be blogging week!  I really want to update all the pictures before this baby comes, it is amazing how life can sweep you away just like that.  So with out further a duo here is the M family and their 5 wonderful kids.  I can’t imagine having 5 kids myself but watching them interact with love wrapped in craziness it gives me hope (though we will have to see how I handle 3, :) )

Sigh, I just love them, and that they were willing to weather the cold and get some pictures outside!  (Granted it wasn’t as cold as it has been here the last couple of days, yikes!)

This was my last session of 2011, what a great way to end the year :)

Published- Glens Falls New York Portrait Photographer

January 16th, 2012

I feel really silly that I forgot to post my exciting news of getting published!  Being pregnant + the crazy rush of getting client pictures done before Christmas totally side tracked me.  The other tricky part was that I took these pictures in October and the Magazine didn’t publish them until December so I had to wait.  Anyway I was so honored to take portraits for Lori Kimble.  She had a remarkable journey of loosing over 100 lbs!  What an inspiration.  I am so honored that I got to be a part of celebrating her success!  And thank you First Magazine for the opportunity :)

Here are a couple more pictures that we took that day :)  Lori is stunning!

Also be sure to check out Lori’s blog she has lots of great recipes and workouts!  What a great example :)

Oh my sweet darlings, I have been meaning to post these since, well, October when I took them :)  It is so wonderful having my sweet little red heads.  I love watching them grow and become best of friends (most days)  It makes me happy too that I can get pictures of them every once in a while, even if it takes bigger and bigger bribes to get them to cooperate, haha.  But then I get a picture like the first one and my heart melts!  I can’t wait to add another one to the mix!

Family Love- New York Capital Region Family Photographer

January 10th, 2012

I am so grateful for this day in age that we have the ability to easily take pictures to share with others.  I am not just talking about custom portraiture (which is a worthy investment) but everyday snapshots of life and family.  It is so important to me that my family (who live on the other side of the country) can see pictures of my children as they grow and visa versa.  Photographs are so important!

I love this family, and yes not just because they are family :)   They are honest, hardworking and hilarious.  I am so glad that we are able to see them a few times a year, and I will continue to take advantage of it however long they decide to live on this side of the county :) I am blessed with such wonderful in-laws!  You can check out earlier pictures of them here and here!

This next picture cracks me up! don’t all moms know the phase where your baby will only open mouth kiss you, so funny and so gross :)

Oh and one of my very, very favorite things is watching toddlers when they first learn how to walk.  Baby Judah was in gorilla mode (arms up) the whole time!

Love you guys, xoxo!

Hi There- New York Capital Region Maternity Photographer

January 2nd, 2012

Happy New Year everyone!  It was so lovely for me to spend time with my family and get caught up on a few personal things during our wonderful Holiday break.  I have a few things I want to catch up on this blog and then I will officially be on Maternity leave until the end of April or early May (depending on when those wonderful apple blossoms decide to bloom)  But don’t worry I will keep updating and post pictures of our sweet little squishy that should be here in about a month, yay!  And just for fun here is the newest instagram belly update, 35 weeks today!

I am so happy I got to go see baby Byron again at his house when he was 4 days old!  He is so sweet and charming.  It is amazing how much little babies change in the first few weeks of life, he already looked different from when I saw him right after his birth!

Thank you C family for letting me be around these first few precious days :)
